Submerciless II LD48 Version
A downloadable game for Windows
Pistol Duel But With Submarines
Made in 72 Hours April17-26 2021 for Ludum Dare 48
THE YEAR IS THE 1970s.
THE PLACE? THE OCEAN.
BOTH PLAYERS HAVE ONE FIRE BUTTON AND AN EVER INCREASING HIT CHANCE AND THAT'S IT
(In the base game. DLC modes included.)
There is no aiming; only luck.
FIRING FIRST WILL GET YOU TEH WIN... IF YOU HIT. BUT THIS OPENS UP THE POSSIBILITY FOR YOUR OPPONENT TO WAIT LONGER TO FIRE AND HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF HITTING THAN YOU DID!
ie. wait as long as you can to fire, but also try to fire before the other person.
Additional instructions are in game. Mostly meant as a two player game but added a really awful AI mode. Basically, your targeting pipper shrinks with time (increasing hit chance) but all that matters is who dies first. Shoot torpedos! Dodge torpedos by going deeper! (in DLC) Decipher cryptic Russian submarine controls! (in DLC) This game has it all. (Those three things.)(in DLC)
Also included a "Tweak" menu in case the default timings and values I set aren't the funnest.
All music, sounds, "graphics" made during the jam. With the exception of a menu system I reuse for every game, all code made during the jam.
If it opens in the wrong size, you can sort things out by hittin F8/F9 to resize the window, " / " sets it to windowed fullscreen, and the numpad " * " sets it to fullscreen.
